Job Description

IT Security Analyst -  3 month W2 contract with possible extensions

Bishop & Company has an immediate opening for a full-time, temporary IT Security Analyst (Mid-Level).
The IT Security Analyst will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and improving the client’s information security posture across systems, networks, and cloud environments. The position supports the cybersecurity roadmap, incident response planning, and compliance. 

We are looking for:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Integrity, accountability, and attention to detail in managing sensitive information.
Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and analyze security alerts, logs, and reports from tools such as MDR, SIEM, or EDR solutions.
  • Support incident detection, triage, investigation, and response activities.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and assist in remediation tracking.
  • Manage user access reviews, MFA enforcement, and privileged account monitoring.
  • Assist in maintaining the client’s security policies, procedures, and compliance documentation.
  • Partner with IT operations to harden endpoints, servers, and network devices.
  • Perform additional duties to support the IT and cybersecurity teams in maintaining a secure and resilient environment.
Position Requirements:
Technical Skills
Working knowledge or familiarity with the following:
  • Microsoft 365 Security & Compliance Center
  • Azure Active Directory and Conditional Access
  • Windows 11 and Windows Server security configurations
  • Vulnerability scanners
  • Email security
  • Firewalls, VPNs, and network segmentation principles
  • Incident response and digital forensics basics
  • Cloud security (Azure, AWS) fundamentals
  • Familiarity with compliance standards: HIPAA, SOC 2, NIST, or CIS Controls
Other Requirements
  • Occasional after-hours or weekend work for incident response or patching.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
Education
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in information technology, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Work Experience
  • Two or more years of experience in IT security, systems administration, or network support required.
  • Experience with monitoring tools, vulnerability management, and MFA administration preferred.
  • Experience working in nonprofit, healthcare, or regulated environments is a plus.
  • Certifications such as Security+, CySA+, CISSP, or equivalent is desirable
Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position. The salary range for this position is typically $80-$120K. This does not guarantee a specific salary as compensation is based upon multiple factors such as education, experience, certifications, and other requirements, and may fall outside of the above-stated range.
