Business Office Associate II (Surgery Scheduler) Bishop&Company, Honolulu HI
Pay Rate: $26.00/hour
Position Summary
The Business Office Associate II serves as the primary Surgery Scheduler, coordinating surgical procedures, patient appointments, authorizations, and pre-operative requirements. This role works closely with physicians, patients, hospitals, and surgical centers to ensure accurate and timely scheduling.
Responsibilities
- Schedule surgical procedures and related appointments.
- Coordinate with patients, providers, hospitals, and surgical facilities.
- Obtain and track insurance authorizations and referrals.
- Verify required documentation, testing, and clearances prior to surgery.
- Maintain accurate patient records within the EMR.
- Manage schedule changes, cancellations, and patient communications.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of medical office or healthcare scheduling experience.
- Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
- Proficiency with EMR systems and Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications
- Surgery scheduling experience strongly preferred.
- Experience in a surgical practice, hospital, or ambulatory surgery center.
- Epic (OpTime) experience preferred.
- Knowledge of insurance verification and prior authorization processes.
