Bishop & Company is seeking a responsible, organized, and detail-oriented individual to join the accounting department as Sr. Accounts Payable Clerk for a privately run American supermarket, retailer and restaurant franchiser headquartered in Honolulu, Hawaii. Ideal candidate will have 3+ years of Accounts Payable experience!
Essential Job Functions:
- Communicates with AP Supervisor to identify problems and solutions
- Acts as an escalation point for A/P clerks to address and solve issues
- Works with AP Supervisor to streamline and improve AP processes
- Works with internal and external customers professionally and promptly
- Meets departmental deadlines according to established guidelines and procedures
- Researches and provides support documents for audit and payment discrepancies
- Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department
- Prepare and maintain accounting documents and records
- Reconcile accounts in a timely manner
- Research issues and/or discrepancies
- Follow established standards, procedures and applicable laws
- Prepare reports and summaries of financial data
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of data
- Performs other duties as required
Skills:
- Proven accounting experience, preferably in accounts payable
- Familiarity with basic accounting procedures
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Data entry and word processing skills
- Must have strong verbal/written communication skills
- Must have ability to manage multiple deadlines and work under time constraints with minimal supervision
- Must be able to work with a high sense of urgency
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Ability to work well with others
- Must be able to handle confidential/sensitive information with the utmost
- professionalism
- Must be able to live by and embrace our core objectives of providing accurate work product
- Must comply with all company policies and requirements including dress code
- Customer service skills helpful
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of progressive professional experience in Accounts Payable or Accounting with supervisory responsibilities
- Minimum 2+ years of supervisory experience
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Self-directed; able to meet deadlines
- Ability to train and coach
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
Additional Information:
- Job Type: Direct Hire, full time position
- Remote/Hybrid/Office: Hybrid, after training period. The requirement is 3 days in office.
- Pay: $21-23/hr
- Location: Kaimuki, Honolulu
- Benefits: Excellent benefit package!
