High profile membership organization is searching for a savvy, creative, independent and innovative Social Media Specialist to work as the conductor of all internal and member communications, responsible for shaping an authentic and consistent voice in all communication resources.  Develops and drives the internal and external communication strategies and activities; facilitates staff/member compliance with the organization branding; assists management in producing marketing pieces and strategy.

  • Create and/or edit and proof material solicited from officers, staff and members for inclusion in member and public communication via email, website, social media, on-site displays, mailings, and membership organization magazine.
  • Produce weekly “ E-blasts” to members promoting upcoming events, food and beverage specials, and calendar changes, etc.
  • Develop and execute an annual  communications plan in collaboration with the officers, staff and committees to ensure timeliness and most effective choice of mediums in promoting and reporting key events throughout the year.
  • Manage the organization’ s communication tools, such as member App, coming event boards and more.



Education and Experience:
  • Undergraduate degree in English, Communications, Marketing, and/or graphic design or related industry.
  • Website management experience is required.
  • Social media management experience is required.
  • Communications experience in a comparable context is required.
  • Membership organization experience is preferred.


Job Knowledge and Core Competencies:
  • Proficiency in English grammar, with skills in news-style (preferred but not required) writing, feature writing, copywriting and standards-based editing.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff and members.
  • Ability to work independently, bringing forth creative and innovative ideas for means/avenues of communication, primarily through multiple social media resources.
  • Skilled in website design and content management.
  • Skilled in computer graphics software including Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office.
