Bishop & Company is partnering with a respected Hawaii-based energy organization to identify a Safety Specialist for a newly created role focused on safety, security, and emergency preparedness across operational environments.
About the Role
This position supports day-to-day safety execution as well as longer-term preparedness and improvement efforts. You’ll work closely with operational teams to strengthen safe work practices, support emergency readiness, and reinforce a safety culture that shows up on the ground—not just on paper.

This position supports day-to-day safety execution as well as longer-term preparedness and improvement efforts. You’ll work closely with operational teams to strengthen safe work practices, support emergency readiness, and reinforce a safety culture that shows up on the ground—not just on paper.

What You’ll Do
- Support and enhance safety management systems, safe work practices, and incident investigations
- Assist with emergency response planning, drills, and coordination across multiple locations
- Maintain safety equipment, documentation, and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) databases
- Deliver safety training and presentations to employees and partners
- Promote a proactive, people-centered safety culture
- Support compliance with OSHA standards and applicable safety regulations
- Respond as needed during emergency situations in support of a 24/7 operational environment
What We’re Looking For
- 3–5+ years of experience in safety, security, emergency management, or a related field
- Strong foundation in workplace safety; emergency response experience is a plus
- Working knowledge of OSHA standards and safe work practices
- Experience delivering training or presentations (classroom or operational settings)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint
- Ability to obtain a TWIC card within 60 days of hire
- Experience in energy, fuel storage, retail, construction, or industrial environments strongly preferred
- Degree not required
Additional Details
- In-office / on-site role with interisland travel as needed
- Availability outside standard business hours required due to 24/7 operations
- Individual contributor role (no supervisory responsibilities)
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive salary: $100,000–$120,000 + bonus eligibility (budget approved; commensurate with experience)
