The  HR Manager works closely with the VP of Human Resources & Administration and senior management to develop, implement, and evaluate the ongoing HR policies, programs, functions, and activities. The  HR Manager maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business unit’ s financial position, its mid-range plans, its culture and its competition. The primary purpose of this position is to provide HR support to the Owners, Operating Managers, Supervisors, and employees.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES include but are not limited to:
  • Assist in the daily administration of HR services as directed or assigned, including but not limited to: recruitment and selections, safety, loss control, workers compensation, promotions, transfers, employee benefits, affirmative action/EEO compliance, job classification, performance evaluation, and employee relations in accordance with quality management principles and overall objectives of the organization.
  • Develop, prepare, and deliver training to Managers and Supervisors in areas such as: recruiting, employee selection techniques, new employee in-processing and orientation, performance management, diversity, HR legal (FMLA, ADA, FSLA, EEO, etc.), discipline and termination.
  • Regarding wage and salary compensation administration; develop, implement, and control programs in a manner that ensures cost effectiveness, market competitiveness, and internal equity among employees.
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Maintain and expand knowledge and understanding of existing and proposed federal and state law/regulations affecting human resources management. Identify trends that could impact organizational objectives and/or operational resources. Interpret appropriate laws and policies and advise management accordingly.
  • As directed, participate in the investigation and resolution of ongoing employee relations problems, anticipate problems whenever possible, and in consultation with Operating Management and the VP of Human Resources & Administration, develop, recommend, and initiate appropriate steps for resolution.
  • Assists Managers with all terminations and ensures that all proper investigations have been conducted and fully documented. Ensures that no involuntary terminations are processed without corporate review and approval by the VP of Human Resources & Administration. Participates in exit interview process, as required.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.

  • BS or BA in Human Resources Management or related field or equivalent work related experience.
  • PHR (Professional Human Resources) or SHRM-CP required, SPHR (Senior Professional Human Resources) or SHRM-SCP preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in Human Resources positions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Must be able to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization and the general public.
