Job Description
Bishop & Company is seeking candidates for a Provider Relations Specialist opportunity with a health insurance organization in Honolulu.
Provider Relations Specialist
Summary:
- Provides friendly, accurate and timely service to providers with the goals of recruitment, retention, and developing the network of key providers and specialties to improve and maintain reputation in the provider community.
- Receives, researches, resolves, and responds to providers’ inquiries and complaints regarding contracts, credentialing, eligible fees, reimbursement, and other issues in a timely manner.
- Visits providers’ offices to educate and train providers on policies and procedures (P&P) and address their questions and concerns.
- Provides data management support and ensures provider records are updated accurately and timely in applicable systems and databases.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Excellent customer service, organizational, time management, and verbal and written communication skills
- Work independently and in a team environment
- Maintain professionalism in stressful situations
- Able to multi-task and work in fast-paced environment
- Intermediate-level proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Add, subtract, multiply, divide and calculate figures and amounts
- Read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos
- Write detailed and professional correspondence
- Effectively present information and respond timely to internal and external customers
- Solve practical problems and interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Facilitate best practices outcomes
The following are preferred.
- College degree; two years of experience in claims processing, provider/customer service or medical office billing/insurance; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of the provider network management and credentialing requirements under URAC’s Health Network accreditation module
Additional Information:
· Monday - Friday 8am-5pm
· Temporary to Hire
· Downtown Honolulu, HI
· Pay Rate: $16.83-$21.63/hr., dependent on experience
