Job Description
Bishop & Company is seeking an Archaeology Project Director for a local organization in the Honolulu area. This is a full-time, direct hire position offering excellent benefits including paid employee health insurance, retirement with employee matching, hybrid work environment, relocation assistance, and paid parental leave. The Project Director will be based out of Honolulu and will require residence on Oahu by time of start. Frequent travel throughout the Hawaiian Islands and other parts of the Pacific is required.
The Project Director will be responsible for directing and overseeing multiple archaeological projects, overseeing field staff, managing project data, coordinating lab analysis, and report writing. The role will also serve as lead or secondary author on archaeological reports.

Qualified candidates will have:
- A graduate degree with specialization in archaeology or a related field
- Minimum of two years of Project Management and Cultural Resource Management experience
- Valid U.S. passport and U.S. REAL ID driver's license, and ability to pass a background check for access to military installations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe software, and digital field technologies (tablet and GPS).
- Pacific Islands or Asian archaeology experience and bioarcheological experience is a plus.
- The position will require outside work to conduct field work or site visits, supervise archaeology crews, and assisting with on-site training of field staff. Fieldwork requires heavy physical work, sometimes on rugged terrain, and exposure to dirt, heat, and/or loud construction noises.
