Bishop & Co. is seeking qualified candidates for its client based in Honolulu.






Responsible for designing, developing and providing training and staff development programs; serves as an internal consultant with knowledge and expertise in learning and organizational design.  Ensures that programs are in place to assess, measure and enhance the performance of employees.  Responsible for the implementation of employee development programs including succession planning, management development, change management and employee engagement.




Performance Management & Improvement:

Responsible for assisting with the execution of performance management programs including goal setting, performance assessment and documentation.  May be responsible for designing performance improvement interventions for managers and/or employees.

Training Assessment, Design, Development and Delivery:

Works with the Sr. Learning & Development Consultant to create or procure training programs in the area of leadership and management development, change management and staff technical and non-technical job training.

Employee Engagement and Succession Management:

Supports the organizational execution of programs to engage and recognize employees (e.g., New Hire Orientation, Annual Service Awards, Employee Engagement Action Plans) and assists with succession management programs. 

Workforce Planning Consultation:

Partners with other HR functions to advise clients on workforce planning initiatives including alignment of structure and job design with organizational plans and goals.  This consultation will include emphasis on manager and employee readiness.   Assists with the execution of re-organization plans including communication and change management.





  • Bachelor’ s Degree in Human Resources Management, Business or related field.
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for the requirements listed.

  • 8+ years of related work experience.
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for the requirements listed.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of employment and labor laws and regulations related to human resources management.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the theories and principles of adult learning and organizational development including performance and change management, employee engagement and leadership development.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the broader business implications of decision.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills and ability.
  • Demonstrates an ability to consult with and influence leaders regarding workforce planning activities.
  • Responsible for identifying and recommending solutions to systemic issues related to talent management.
  • Strong oral and written skills to prepare comprehensive and clear written documents, presentations and policies.
  • Training and/or work experience guiding and consulting with individuals, managers and senior leaders.
  • Ability to travel to various locations, including neighbor islands to consult with leaders.
  • Ability to work evening and weekend hours as required to meet goals and objectives.

  • 3+ years of management experience.
  • Previous experience working in an education setting
