Job Description

IKM / Information Management Specialist

Identify, document, coordinate and evaluate information management capabilities, systems, and services necessary to share critical information generated by command staff. Candidate should have a wide comprehensive knowledge and understanding of mission systems (e.g., GCCS, C2PC, JDOCS, etc.) and KM tools systems (SharePoint, C2IE, CAS).  In addition, support the development and publishing of the Knowledge and Information Management Plan (KIMP), Information Management Annex (Annex U) for crisis action teams (CAT) and operational exercise plans and orders. 

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with Information Management Tactical Publication and security procedures used to share quality information through use of various capabilities.
  • Catalog IT capabilities, and services related to information management systems.
  • Maintain technical, tactical and administrative awareness of exercises for planning, programming, developing, implementing, and evaluating capabilities, systems, and services.
  • Support technical solutions and analysis of the commands' information management architecture, including but not limited to creating system impact analysis (SIA) reports and SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) analyses of MFP command information systems and other collaborative systems and applications.
  • Coordinate with IKM Section Lead for reporting and publishing procedures for information related reports, products, and support items as required.
  • Support SharePoint content and data migrations and assist IKM Section in Information Management related battle rhythm events.
  • Support the development of Information Management (IM) processes, and information exchange requirements (IERs).
  • Determine the impact of IERs on systems, tools, and applications in order to support an effective integrated collaborative systems architecture.
  • Manage exercise and operational integration requirements and collaboration efforts.
  • Collect technical information required to support tactical operations in a format that promotes understanding to support timely decisions to satisfy CCIRs. 
  • Create and maintain a C2 systems glossary / matrix with name, section owner type of network, purpose, and description of each.
  • Work with both technical and non-technical audiences and communicate complex technical concepts at the executive level.
  • Work closely with staff principles, staff sections, to ensure IM procedures and processes are published and understood.
  • Ensure recommended IM flow processes, improvements/enhancements are brought to leadership for evaluation and possible implementation.
  • Attend meetings, planning conferences, video and teleconferences, working groups, and exercises as required in support of resource management. 
  • Prepare talking points, briefs, presentations, meeting minutes, after action reports, information papers, point papers, staffing products, trip reports, and host meetings as applicable.

Required Skills:
  • 8 years of Information/Knowledge Management or similar experience required. 
  • Understanding of Information Management and  mission systems (e.g., GCCS, C2PC, JDOCS, JWICS, etc.) and KM systems (SharePoint, C2IE, CAS).
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, be customer and detail oriented and possess good decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI.

Salary range $80,000 - $100,000 Annually
