Human Resources Manager

Bishop & Co. is seeking qualified candidates for its client based in Honolulu.







Manage, implement and assist with various facets of human resources functions with emphasis on compensation, performance management, HR analytics, employee relations, recognition & rewards and compliance issues.




  • Responsible for managing the compensation program for the company under the direction and guidance of the SVP, Human Resources.  Provides recommendations on compensation related to new hires, promotions and equity adjustments to maintain appropriate internal alignment of positions and market competitiveness based on established salary structure and guidelines.  
  • Drafts internal compensation policies and guidelines
  • Gathers statistics and data on salaries and wages in the industry and related markets.  Periodically reviews salary and wage structure in comparison to market changes; completes salary surveys and analysis.  Provides recommendations
  • Queries and evaluates wages for hourly positions; makes recommendations based on market changes and trends.
  • Performs costing and analysis on salaries and wages.
  • Assists SVP, Human Resources with the administration of annual wage and salary increases.


HR Analytics
  • Gathers information on various metrics and performs analysis for internal reporting on turnover, recruitment, benefits and workforce analytics.
  • Evaluates workforce demographics trends, forecasts retirements, and other analytics to assist the department in planning for future needs.
  • Assist in creating department budget, evaluating/forecasting expenses, trends and budget performance. 
  • Responsible for managing the implementation of Employee Engagement survey and related reports; work with vendor to build dashboards, monitoring action plans, etc.


Employee Relations (including but not limited to):
  • Administer company’ s human resources policies and procedures.
  • Assist in development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures and partners with corporate and property staff.
  • Collaborate with Team Headquarters, and/or field managers, and implement directives on various projects, i.e., required reports, recognition awards program and company sponsored events.


Performance Management & Competencies
  • Manages the administration of all performance evaluations programs.
  • Document performance measurements and align with identified competencies and goals.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of job competencies;
  • Assist with succession planning development.


Job Descriptions
  • Reviews all job descriptions; provides recommendations to improve proper descriptions of the work performed. Perform regular audits and evaluation of all salaried and hourly job descriptions.
  • Recommends exemption status and assignment of grade in the salary structure.


Recognition & Rewards Program
  • Assists with the implementation of recognition and rewards programs.
  • Reviews and prepares materials for Excellence Award programs, Corporate programs, and others as assigned.
  • Tracks service awards and other programs. 



  • Bachelor’ s Degree in Human Resources or equivalent work experience

  • 2 or more years’ experience in Human Resources, compensation, analytics and knowledge of labor laws.  Proficient in MS Word & Excel required.  Access and HRIS systems (People Soft) experience preferred.

  • HR Certification preferred (PHR, SPHR, etc.)
