Job Description
Position Overview: Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Human Resources Generalist to join their team. The Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for administering leaves of absence, health and welfare benefits programs, plans, and policies, as well as overseeing various aspects of human resources operations. This position reports directly to the Director of Human Resources and plays a vital role in shaping the company's employee-oriented, high-performance culture.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop and administer programs, procedures, and guidelines to align the workforce with the company's strategic goals.
- Support the ongoing development and monitoring of the company's wage and salary structure, variable pay systems, and benefit plans.
- Conduct market research and prepare benefits and compensation studies to establish competitive practices.
- Coordinate benefits orientations, training, and education for employees.
- Oversee employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and events.
- Implement company safety and health programs, including training and education.
- Assist with recruitment and hiring initiatives, conducting new-employee orientations.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal employment laws and regulations.
- Maintain confidentiality of company information and data.
- Complies with all existing governmental and labor legal and government reporting requirements including any related to the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Hawaii Family Leave Act (HFLA), Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), the Department of Labor (DOL), worker compensation, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and so forth. This includes assisting managers with the application and interpretation of HR policies, performance problems, transfers, terminations, and promotions
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or Organization Development or equivalent experience.
- Three to five years of progressive experience in Human Resources positions.
- Specialized training in employment law, benefits and compensation, preferred.
- Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification, preferred.
- Healthcare experience, preferred.
- Proficiency in leave administration with strong HR Administration experience
- Experience with State and Federal employment laws and practices.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with HRIS/Payroll systems.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Healthcare industry a plus, but not required
- CA state and/or multiple states HR laws knowledge and proficiency preferred, but not required
