This is a key role within a high-performing HR team that supports multiple properties and business units across Hawai?i. You’ll partner closely with business leaders, mentor junior HR team members, and serve as a subject matter expert in employee engagement, compliance, compensation, and benefits.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic HR Business Partnership
- Serve as lead HR partner to assigned departments, advising on associate relations, policy interpretation, performance management, and talent development.
- Conduct timely, thorough workplace investigations and ensure appropriate action.
- Drive employee engagement and retention through consistent communication, recognition programs, and coaching.
- Lead the design, administration, and continuous improvement of health, retirement, wellness, and leave programs.
- Conduct benchmarking, manage vendor relationships, and oversee annual planning cycles for merit increases, bonuses, and salary adjustments.
- Ensure regulatory compliance with FLSA, HIPAA, ACA, COBRA, ADA, ERISA, and more.
- Coordinate and prepare Form 5500 filings, IRS nondiscrimination testing, and benefits-related audits.
- Partner with hiring managers and vendors to attract and select diverse, high-quality candidates.
- Oversee onboarding and orientation programs that reinforce company values and compliance standards.
- Champion cross-training and skill development across departments.
- Maintain accurate and secure HRIS and personnel files, audit regularly, and manage LOA, FMLA, ADA, and Workers’ Comp cases.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field; or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 4 years in progressive HR roles, with at least 2 years of managerial experience.
- Strong knowledge of benefits/compensation programs and compliance requirements.
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS platforms (CEBS or CCP certification a plus).
- Hospitality/Tourism/Hotel Industry experience a plus, but not required.
- SHRM Certification a plus, but not required.
- World At Work Certification a plus, but not required.
