HR Coordinator (Temporary)
Honolulu, HI (Downtown) | Full-Time | Temporary (3+ months)
Pay: $19.35–$25.80/hour, depending on experience
Bishop & Company is seeking an HR Coordinator to support a busy and collaborative HR team in a full-time, temporary capacity. Bishop & Company is seeking an HR Coordinator to support a busy and collaborative HR team in a full-time, temporary capacity. Schedule & Location
- Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Onsite role in Downtown Honolulu
- Parking not provided
- Start ASAP
- Anticipated duration: ~3 months (may extend based on business needs)
Key Responsibilities Benefits & HR Administration
- Serve as primary contact for health and welfare plan administration, including enrollments, changes, and terminations
- Assist employees with benefits inquiries and escalate issues as needed
- Coordinate billing, payment requests, and documentation
- Manage pre-employment processes including background checks and onboarding coordination
- Partner with hiring managers and new hires to ensure a smooth onboarding experience
- Schedule start dates and orientations and conduct onboarding audits for compliance
- Administer employee referral program processes
- Maintain accurate HRIS records including hires, promotions, transfers, and terminations
- Track recruitment data and assist with weekly reporting and status updates
- Support development and improvement of HR dashboards and reports
- Assist with employee wellness initiatives and track program outcomes
- Support benefits open enrollment, new hire orientation, and internal HR communications
- Help develop and deliver employee education and training materials
- Respond to internal and external HR inquiries in a timely, professional manner
- Assist with process improvement, data analysis, and special projects
- Provide backup support for leave administration and compliance-related processes
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws
- Maintain documentation and assist with required reporting and notices
Qualifications Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field preferred
- Minimum 2+ years of HR-related experience required
- Experience in benefits administration, HRIS, onboarding/recruiting, or HR operations preferred
- Bachelor’s degree may substitute for required experience
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR systems
