Seeking qualified HR candidates to align business objectives with employees and management through day-to-day interaction. This role primarily supports Retail Operations and involves formulating partnerships across the organization to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary action).
- Assist with Dayforce payroll policy set-up for employee onboarding and terminations.
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies in alignment with Retail initiatives.
- Manage Retail leave and disability programs, including processing disability claims and return-to-work communications.
- Analyze trends and metrics for HR reporting and provide policy guidance to stakeholders.
- Coordinate and support the Retail Random Drug Testing Program.
- Assist with downstream with recruitment, disability management, alcohol and drug programs, performance management, and HR special projects as needed.
- Promote teamwork and respect the diversity of the workforce.
- Support safety, reliability, and incident and injury-free operations.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience resolving complex employee relations issues.
- Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state employment laws.
- SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Certified Senior Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential or ability to obtain certification within two years of employment (ten plus years of experience may substitute for certification).
- Strong ethical standards: integrity, objectivity, and confidentiality.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including editing and proofreading.
- Ability to maintain automated and manual record-keeping systems.
- Strong sense of team spirit and ability to work independently.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and plan work activities efficiently.
- Adaptability to changes in the work environment and ability to manage competing demands.
- Dependability and commitment to safety and security procedures.
- Experience with Microsoft Access, Ceridian Dayforce HRIS, and Active Learner LMS software.
- Retail industry experience highly preferred.
- Pass background check, drug test, criminal background check, and a five-year motor vehicle history check.
- Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC) within sixty days of hire.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean abstract.
- Willingness to devote the time needed to meet project and task deadlines.
Location: Kapolei
Hours: Offers a schedule of 4/10 hour days. Days of operation are Monday through Thursday, pending competing business priorities.
