Bishop & Company is seeking an Expense Payable Clerk to support a high-volume accounting team in Honolulu. This role plays a key part in store operations by processing and reviewing non-merchandise invoices such as utilities, rent, CAM fees, and maintenance expenses.

Key Responsibilities
- Process a high volume of expense invoices accurately and efficiently
- Review invoices for proper approvals, account coding, and supporting documentation
- Enter and validate recurring expenses (utilities, rent, CAM charges, property tax, etc.)
- Research and resolve invoice discrepancies with vendors, stores, and internal teams
- Serve as a resource for resolving complex expense-related issues
- Ensure expenses are recorded in the correct accounting period and GL accounts
- Reconcile vendor statements and follow up on outstanding items
- Assist with month-end close, including accrual support
- Maintain organized records in compliance with company policies
- Support audits by providing documentation and explanations
- Partner with leadership to improve processes and strengthen controls
- Maintain strict confidentiality of financial information
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum 2+ years of accounts payable experience, ideally with expense or store operations accounting
- Experience processing utilities, rent, CAM fees, or property-related expenses strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of accounts payable and expense accounting principles
- Proven ability to manage high-volume workloads with accuracy
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Excel and accounting systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Effective communicator with the ability to work cross-functionally
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Office-based role with moderate noise level
- Regular sitting, typing, and handling documents
- Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds
- Must be comfortable working under tight deadlines
