Job Description
Bishop & Company is searching for an End User Device Technician to deliver help to system users by responding to client queries, solving technical problems and retaining an organizational network, software and computer peripherals.
The End User Support Technician works with most desktop related aspects like laptops, PCs, printers, scanners, and other related peripherals to support the shipyard. They ensure the end devices are inventoried and equipment requirements are up-to-date. They may be assigned to larger scale projects, such as AACS or RFID projects, or new technology projects.
Duties
- Responds to customer requests effectively and communicates with them to address their issues.
- Troubleshoot and maintain the shipyard inventory of IT hardware support aka end devices such as desktop workstations, laptops, tablets, and maintain other peripheral devices such as printers, plotter, RFID’s, multi-functional devices (MFDs), etc.
- Troubleshooting print quality issues. Set up new plotters, printers, and other equipment. Troubleshoot and maintain print servers.
- Support maintenance of service contracted systems and equipment, such as HP, Dell, etc. An example would trouble shooting a printer that is not booting and working with vendors to erase configuration and rebuild printer settings from scratch.
- Perform Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) requirement for peripheral devices and ensure end devices meet DoD security requirements.
- Assist with Automated Access Control Systems (AACS) and troubleshoot as needed. Deploy and maintain badge monitoring workstations and peripherals.
- Deploy WYSE Thin Clients to the customer sites.
- Update Secured Network (SECNET) inventory; dispose old equipment inventory.
Skills Required: Sound judgement and troubleshoot techniques to resolve problems.
Requirements and Certifications
- Security+ Certification
- Windows 10 Certification within 6 months of start.
Salary range $60,000 - 70,000 Annually
