Bishop & Co. is seeking a Director of HR & Talent Acquisition for our Big Island client to serve as a champion of company values and foster a culture of collaboration and integrity. (Our client is not in hospitality.)
**This role is for those who are Hawaii residents or who have worked in Hawaii HR for at least 5 years.
The Director of HR & TA executes the overall HR strategy and best practices to support the company and brand, while rolling their sleeves up for day-to-day tactical support of employees. They are a steward of trust, able to balance a strong director-level presence with grassroots approachability.
The ideal candidate leads with Aloha and can have tough conversations, has a can-do outlook, is compassionate and fair, diplomatic, authentic, and is excited to help level-up this company to be a Hawaii employer of choice.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of HR experience with excellent management of the HR cycle and best practices across all HR disciplines
- 5+ years of Hawaii state HR experience with strong Hawaii employment law knowledge
- Strong project management and organization skills with a background executing full-cycle HR initiatives
- Bachelor’s degree+ in HR or related field
- Highly skilled interpersonal, emotional intelligence, and conflict-management abilities
