Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review financial statements (e.g., balance sheets, income statements) in compliance with GAAP and retail-specific accounting practices.
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting process across store locations and corporate departments.
- Oversee daily accounting operations including inventory accounting, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger management.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure the accuracy of financial data, especially in high-volume retail transactions.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, sales tax requirements, and audit standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting or financial management experience, with a strong preference for retail or supermarket industry experience.
- Deep understanding of GAAP and retail-specific financial reporting.
- Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis in a multi-location retail environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Effective leadership and team development skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with retail ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP) is a plus.
