Bishop & Company is seeking an Accounts Payable Accountant for a healthcare institution in Honolulu. This role is responsible for accurately and timely processing vendor invoices, payments, and related reconciliations, while maintaining compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, verify, and process vendor invoices for accuracy and proper approvals
- Perform 2-way and 3-way invoice matching
- Enter invoices into the accounting system in a timely and accurate manner
- Prepare and process check runs, ACH, and wire payments
- Ensure timely payment of all vendor obligations
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Communicate with vendors and internal departments regarding invoice issues
- Assist with month-end close and account reconciliations related to accounts payable
- Maintain organized and accurate AP records and documentation
- Support audits and ensure compliance with internal controls
- Assist with 1099 preparation and reporting as needed and perform other duties as assigned
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 2+ years of accounts payable or general accounting experience (adjustable based on level)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of GAAP preferred
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Type: Temporary for 3 months with possible extension
- Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM or 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Location: Honolulu, HI 96813
- Parking: not provided
- Pay: $28-$30/hr DOE
