Job Description
Bishop & Company is seeking a Corporate Controller, based in Hilo, Hawaii - on behalf of a well-established Hawaii-based organization. This is a pivotal leadership role reporting directly to the CFO, responsible for overseeing the accounting function, ensuring financial integrity, and supporting strategic decision-making across the company.
The Corporate Controller will manage accounting operations, provide financial analysis and reporting, and help safeguard company assets while driving operational efficiency. What You’ll Do

Financial Leadership & Oversight:
-
Supervise the Accounting Department, including Accounts Receivable, Inventory, and other accounting functions.

Prepare and review monthly financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, and account analyses in accordance with GAAP.

Collaborate with the CFO on budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial planning.
-
Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data and internal control systems.

Operational & Systems Management:
-
Oversee company banking activities, wire and ACH payments, and intercompany transfers.

Manage accounting software applications and support system implementation, upgrades, and operational use.
-
Assist with contract audits, tax filings, and external financial reviews/audits.

People Leadership:
-
Lead and mentor accounting staff, fostering a culture of accountability, accuracy, and efficiency.

Conduct regular departmental meetings and provide technical support to team members and other departments.

Special Projects & Cross-Functional Support:

Serve as backup to the Assistant Controller and CFO as needed.

Participate in company meetings and projects requiring financial insight or analysis.
What We’re Looking For -
Education & Certification: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA or MBA preferred.

Experience:
-
Minimum six years of progressive accounting experience, including at least two years in a supervisory role.

Proven experience with Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Inventory Management, cost accounting, consolidations, and intercompany eliminations.
