Bishop & Company is recruiting for a direct hire role with an innovative company providing technology solutions for their customers in Honolulu, HI. The Distribution Engineering Manager must be able to work in a fast paced environment ensuring program success.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead and oversee the design and construction work package development for electrical overhead and underground distribution systems (ranging from 4kV to 138kV).
- Ensure project deliverables meet stringent quality standards for both Leidos and our clients.
- Manage project scopes, schedules, and budgets in collaboration with the PMO.
- Provide leadership and direction to engineering teams, ensuring smooth project execution and on-time delivery.
- Act as the primary point of contact with clients, maintaining strong, professional relationships to drive successful project outcomes.
- Optimize team efficiency by monitoring project backlogs and employee utilization, addressing any issues that arise.
- Foster a culture of safety and adherence to engineering best practices while maintaining compliance with project scope and timelines.
- Collaborate with internal departments and client teams to deliver superior work products that exceed expectations.
- Conduct site visits and provide technical guidance to teams on-site, ensuring construction crews and project managers stay aligned with project goals.
- Support business development by leveraging industry contacts and nurturing relationships for future growth.
What You’ll Bring:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 6+ years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role (or a Master’s degree with 4+ years of experience).
- A Professional Engineer (PE) License in Hawaii or the ability to obtain one within six months of hire.
- Expertise in NESC Standards and proficiency with distribution design tools such as BOUD, Pole Foreman, Spida-Calc, and O-Calc.
- Proven experience in project management and leading teams to success.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused mindset to ensure smooth interactions with clients and stakeholders.
- The flexibility to travel (10-20%) and work in both office and outdoor environments.
- Candidates must reside on Oahu by time of hire. No relocation assistance offered.
Compensation: $125,000 - $150,000 annually
